POLICE CHIEF SHOULD RESIGN

by Ted Brunelle
“Scranton’s police chief should resign…” police union president Sgt. Bob Martin stated several times during a press conference held Aug. 18 at the Scranton Hilton.

Police Chief David Elliot was suspended for a week without pay Aug. 14 for allegedly making derogatory remarks on more than one occasion to two female officers. While formulating staffing assignments for a security detail pertaining to a surprise visit by presidential candidate Barak Obama, his request for two female officers to put in additional overtime was turned down.
