4-H Clubs Take Part in Fair

Almost 500 exhibits lined the 4-H Tent at the Northeast Fair, held recently in Pittston.
With the largest crowds the Fair has seen to date, there was plenty to see and do at the event, especially in the 4-H tent, including Make ’N Take Tables, the Teen Council Ring Toss Game, and the county fund raiser, a refreshment stand.
Exhibits included horse projects, woodworking, sewing, tied blankets, strawberry plants and other features.
Thirteen 4-H Clubs had exhibits on display, including: 4-H Einsteins, 4-H Einsteins Cloverbuds, 4-H Explorers, Abington Equestrians 4-H, Archbald 4-H, Endless Mountains 4-H, Glenburn Sewing 4-H, Lucky Horseshoes 4-H, Magical Wonders 4-H, May-Jer 4-H, Springbrook Woodworking 4-H, Teen Council 4-H, and Valley Equestrian 4-H.
Ten schools which includes 20 classrooms entered poems or essays in the 4-H School Enrichment Division.
They were All Saints Academy, Howard Gardner Elementary, John Marshall Elementary, La Salle Academy, McNichols Plaza, Moscow Elementary, Neil Armstrong Elementary, Sacred Heart Elementary, Scranton Hebrew Day School, and Waverly Elementary.
Monica Houseman of Magical Wonders 4-H received “Best in Show” at the Fair for her tied blanket. Members who received 4-H Top of the Class Ribbons were Brynn Hines of 4-H Explorer; Lauren Baldwin and Vanessa Lempicky of Abington Equestrian 4-H; Donta’ Burns of Archbald 4-H; Liz Iwach, Gianna Greco and Katie Dolechek of Endless Moutain 4-H;
